Start: The Westchester-side Landing for the Mario Cuomo Bridge, 333 South Broadway in Tarrytown, next to the Thruway Authority maintenance facility. Parking is free and there are restrooms. 3 rest stops 1. Cove Deli (mile 19) 2. Top of Bear Mtn (mile 31) 3. Mountain View Deli (mile 54) You are all invited to the Elevation Party with the A/A+ group up Bear Mountain. We’ll start at the base of the Bridge, then cruise the bike path through Nyack and Haverstraw. We’ll skim 9W just enough to feel dangerous, stop at Cove Deli, and immediately betray our legs by climbing Buckberg Mountain “for fun.” From there we hit the scenic Jones Point Rail Trail before the climb up Bear Mountain. Bring your climbing legs and whatever dignity you’re willing to lose on the way down. After a summit breather, we’ll descend and take pretty back roads (avoiding 9W like it owes us money). Final snack coffee stop at the mile 54 deli before crawling back to our cars tired but happy humans.
