Ride starts at 9am from Veterans Memorial Park, east end of the parking lot. This route passes by several nature preserves and farms on low traffic roads in the Pine Barrens area. Intermittent rolling hills throughout with a 620’ elevation gain. A portion of this route is on the Calverton bike path. Food stop will be at Netties Country Bakery in Center Moriches (mile 15). I am targeting a 14-15 MPH pace. RSVP suggested, not required. (Restrooms at start, and at mile 15.) No go in rain. (Note: SBRA riders may join this ride.)

***Cancelling due to lack of interest and potential heat*** Please be ready to roll by 8:30 AM. Water, bathrooms and food available at Starbucks, Goldberg’s Bagels and the Mattituck McDonald’s before the ride. Water/bathroom stops planned at the Greenport 7 Eleven, the Shelter Island North Ferry stop, and in one of the Greenport Bagel shops on the way back home. Will adjust pacing and stops as needed based on weather conditions (it will be a hot day). Please note that the ferry accepts cash only. It is an $8 roundtrip to/from Shelter Island. Also note that I am requesting a back-up ride leader for this ride, as I am on standby jury duty this week and will not know if I am free to lead this ride until after 5:00 PM on Wednesday night. Let me know if you are interested in being a back-up leader.
