Oakdale LIRR Station to Yaphank
:This C+ ride starts in the south parking lot of the Oakdale LIRR Station @ 10:00am. Most of the roads have low traffic and are generally flat with a few rolling hills. Total elevation climb: 675 ft. Targeted pace at least 14-15 mph. Food stop at “Best Bagels Around” in Medford at the 23 mile mark. The train station is located on the NW corner of Montauk Ave. & Oakdale-Bohemia Rd., accessible from either exit 46A or 47 of Sunrise Hwy. Watch for a possible cancellation due to rain. RSVP suggested, not required.

EV MPBC 50th Birthday Weekend Ride
Haypath Park – 240 Haypath Road, Old Bethpage, NY to Various
:Massapequa Park Bicycle Club was founded on May 2nd, 1974. On Saturday May 4th, MPBC honors the club’s 50th Anniversary with a members-only commemorative ride and event starting from Haypath Park in Old Bethpage.
The festivities begin at 8:30 AM with three group rides that are open to all ride classifications –
• A 50-mile route to East Island led by Paul Santoro (https://www.strava.com/routes/3218560179706443760)
• A 35-mile (50K) route to Kings Park led by Fred Itkin

There will be bananas and snacks available before the ride and a light lunch in Haypath Park after the ride. The club will also have fit kits on hand for the new MPBC 50th anniversary kits for those who want to confirm their sizes before ordering theirs.

:Arrive at Haypath Park before 8:30 (entrance on the south side of Haypath road a couple of blocks west of Old Bethpage road or Round Swamp road).
Let’s aim to leave at 8:30 sharp and return around noon. We will generally cruise in the low 20s (20 to 23 mph) on the flat roads and regroup periodically.
We will likely stop at East Island for a Bathroom break and then again at the shopping center in Glen cove to purchase drinks and light snacks if needed.

C+ Captree SP/Jones Beach
Captree State Park to Cedar Creek Park
:This ride covers the entire Jones Beach bike trail system, starting at Captree State Park at 10:00am, at the west end of the parking lot. We will take the Ocean Parkway Greenway trail and Ellen Ferrant Memorial Bikeway to Cedar Creek Park, then back to the Jones Beach Boardwalk to the Jones Beach Energy and Nature Center. Total mileage about 44 miles, or may be reduced due to wind conditions, or to your own preference. Food stop at the Boardwalk Café at about the 26 mile mark. RSVP suggested, but not required. No go in rain.

:One of my favorite northern Nassau routes with a food stop in Locust Valley. The three descents are down Sandy Hill Road, Whitney Road and Feeks Lane.
