Well sorry it took me a month to see this reply. I am definitely up for doing this, if not this season then next. I get really bored with the same routes, though I feel we are very lucky to have to lovely destinations that we do ride. Let's definitely plan some remote start rides for next season. Keep in touch!

I have done the 9W ride many times. Yes their is a path that takes you over the bridge. It is hilly mind you so if you have been riding a lot this year you would do fine. I have taken the train to Penn Station and then ride up to the bridge. There are two ways to go. One is the bike path to the bridge. The second is riding on the streets(Riverside Drive).

If you desire a partner to accompanied you let me know.

I am a "A" pace rider but can ride slower.

Yeah, that is a tough one. Personally, I like the organized feel of the "pay" rides but the jury is out whether the benefit of that organized feel is worth the cost. The main event is obviously the pedaling and if we can do that for free, then more power to us!

5BBC Montauk Century/Metric Century Report
I did the ride from Babylon and although the road did have several club markings on the roads, which I followed the wrong ones it only added a few extra miles to my route so I wound up with 112 miles. The rest stops were well organized and stocked, although tap water isnt my fav. I love this ride and especially when the weather was nice as it was. It is basically dead flat so its good for pacelines. Well done once again! thank you

15 miles of hiking...not too shabby. In the old days, when i hiked test would have required a cooler full of snacks and beverages. ;-)

Many cyclists out last weekend
This weekedend (3/28) not too many.
Next weekend looks to be good.

Great first blog, Barbara. However, you did not sign it, so no one knows who you are.

Other areas to explore via bicycle rides...see The Bicycle Site Blog (link at right) and read "Gasp . . . Walking the Bike Ride"
